Where is the heating element located on a Whirlpool Cabrio dryer?
The heating element assembly is a rectangular metal enclosure toward the right side of the cabinet. Whirlpool usually locates the heating element on the back of dryer (must remove back of dryer) or under the drum (must remove front dryer).
How do you know if the heating element is bad in my dryer?
Inspect the metal wire coil for any breaks in the wire. If the wire is solid and has no breaks in it, the heating element should be good. If the wire has a break in it, the heating element is defective.
Why is my Whirlpool Cabrio dryer not heating?
Cabrio dryers should be connected to two household fuses or circuit breakers. If one of these trips or fails, the drum will turn, but the dryer may not provide heat. Reset the breaker or replace the fuse and restart your dryer. You should also make sure the dryer is connected to a 240-volt power supply.
Why is my Whirlpool dryer not drying?
If you have a dryer not drying in one cycle, the solution could be as simple as cleaning the lint trap. It should be cleaned every time you run a load of clothes in the dryer. To clean the lint trap in the dryer, just pull out the trap before starting the dryer and swipe all the lint out.
Why did my Whirlpool dryer stop spinning?
If your Whirlpool dryer won’t spin properly, the drum rollers may be worn out. You can check the rollers for wear and tear to see if they turn easily. If any of the drum rollers are damaged or don’t spin easily, we recommend replacing all of them at the same time as a preventative measure.
How do I open my dryer to clean it?
How to Open a Dryer Front for Lint Cleaning
- Unplug the dryer from the wall prior to servicing.
- Slide a putty knife under the front left and right sides of the control panel to release the spring clips.
- Remove the two screws at the rear of the top panel and then slide the top panel forward and lift if off of the dryer.
Why is my dryer running but not heating?
Is your dryer not heating up? Common reasons for an electric or gas dryer not heating are a tripped circuit breaker, clogged vent, and no gas flow. Other potential reasons include a faulty thermal fuse and broken heating element.
If your dryer won’t start when you push the start button, the most likely causes are a lack of power, a defective door switch, a blown thermal fuse or a bad start switch. If it doesn’t turn on, it’s likely that the dryer has no power. Check your power cord and the house circuit breaker.
How do I know if my thermal fuse is blown?
How to tell if a thermal fuse has blown? To test if your thermal fuse has blown, touch the right side of your multimeter lead to the right side of the fuse, and repeat with the left multimeter lead. If the multimeter needle fails to move, this indicates the thermal fuse has blown.
Whirlpool dryers can do many things, such as monitor moisture levels and temperature, reduce noise, periodically tumble clothes to remove wrinkles, steam clothes and adjust the overall drying time according to fabric and load size. However, one thing a Whirlpool dryer cannot do is reset itself by pushing a button.
